3 Day Refresh: Day One
I wasn’t too excited about the 3-Day Refresh until I stepped on the scale and discovered I was up about 4-5 pounds from where I was last year. Not a big deal, but I know shedding a little bit of weight will help me run faster. And of course, it will help me fit into my skinny jeans more comfortably. Now I’m FIRED UP to see some change.
I also want to get the gunk out of my system. I need a caffeine detox. I’ve been sleeping like crap lately, and I think I’ve just been relying too much on caffeine to wake me up in the morning – but then that backfires.
I am going to see how closely I can stick to it this time. Every single time I’ve done it, I’ve cheated a little bit. I still end up losing 3-5 pounds (read about my first experience with 3 Day Refresh). Like I always say, aim for progress – not perfection.
End of Day One – 95% perfect!! (this hardly never happens)
3 Day Refresh: Day Two
Morning: Happy about the success of Day One
Mid-Day: Another Fiber Sweep? Well OK. If I have to. #chug it
Evening: Doing fine, but HANGRY. That is all.
Late Night: My name is Kim, and I have sinned. I was following the 3-Day Refresh plan to a T up until about 9pm. NO cheats. Things were looking GOOD. I had just arrived back at home after running errands and I was RAVENOUS. I dove into my homemade hummus the the veggies weren’t cutting it. Then, I spotted some pita bread in the fridge. Before I knew it, I had smeared hummus all over about three pieces of pita bread. Then that lead to feeling like I need protein too so ate some salmon cakes we had leftover. When all was said and done, I’m sure I consumed about an extra 1000 calories. I am normally not a binge eater, but that felt pretty close to it. Not so much for the quantity of food I ate, that wouldn’t be far from a “normal” meal for me while not following this plan, but because I felt a little out of control when I ate and super-guilty when it was over.
I was feeling horrible not only because I wanted to do it “for real” this time, but because I know so many of you are following my journey on Snapchat. I “conveniently” left out the binge photos from my story. In the interest of keeping it real, I’m telling it like it is.
3 Day Refresh: Day Three
I think the hard part of the 3-Day Refresh for me is that I am used to consuming about 2200-2500 calories per day. It’s just too drastic of a change for a food slut like me. I also don’t want to stop working out for three days. If I did, I’m sure I would be less #hangry by the eve of DAY TWO.
I’m doubting that the scale will reflect much change when I weigh in tomorrow. I ate WAY too many carbs last night. BUT – Each time I do this, I feel like it does get me back on track for being more careful about what I eat. I eat mindlessly quite a bit.
Day Four: HAPPY DANCE
I am in SHOCK that I still lost three pounds after Friday night’s fiasco.
