MONDAY MORNING REALITY CHECK
Having not weighed myself in over a month, I decided to step on the scale this morning. I DID NOT LIKE what I saw. I didn’t think I went that far off track over the holidays, but apparently I did. I went through a lot of the old emotions I used to deal with when I was a slave to the scale. In my early adult life, I had a really unhealthy relationship with the scale. I let it dictate how I felt about myself that day – for better but mainly for worse. For that reason, I tend to stay away from it altogether now. So, with that reality check I was reminded of a few things:
1. I won’t let the scale tell me how I feel about myself. I have had some great NSV (non-scale victories) lately, am building lots of strength and endurance. The scale can’t take that away from me.
2. I have control over my body. The scale doesn’t. This week, I set my intention to do my best with clean eating, exercise and portion control. If I take care of that, the scale takes care of itself.
3. I may not like the start of the week, but I WILL like the end. I can do this, and I will. I have set my intentions and invite YOU to do the same.
What are YOUR intentions for this week?
